One could say that the magazine editor believed the portrait is art...art is extremely subjective. We also know that the black female has been demeaned in the arena of sexuality. She is seen as an object, not as a Lady within the Western and European Civilization. Therefore, black female is an easy target to SEXUALLY objectify, humiliate, and defile. It does not matter the status of the black female. She is unworthy of the respect that's given to a white queen and/or first lady. So, I am not surprised...offended on the behalf of black females - but not alarmed in the least. There is a teaching opportunity here...

Be better than what the images of the black female that's in the minds of countless Europeans. Don't shape or form their beliefs...Be a queen! If you don't they will continue to see you as a OBJECT...'
